Mark Jacobs is a consultant for Advanced Competitive Strategies. His passion is building great brands, which means understanding the competitive environments of great companies and looking for ways to break the mold with highly creative, highly profitable strategies. He has worked in the technology industry for eight years, including as an investment banker at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown and subsequently as a strategist and Mergers & Acquisitions specialist in Silicon Valley. He has also advised companies, big and small, in the energy, transportation, pharmaceutical, retail, and not-for-profit sectors. In whatever he does, he is devoted to genuine insight and innovation.
Mark earned his BA from UCLA in Communication Studies and MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and newborn son. His favorite hobbies all involve intense competition, which means his wife and he don’t really share any hobbies any more, and his favorite word is “why.” Just because.
