Groupthink is a serious problem here, and it's made worse because "it's working!" makes it easy to fall into groupthink. Plus, the more evidence we (think we) have that something is "working," the harder it is to think, convince, and be convinced otherwise. Babette, I agree with you. A superb article and very insightful... you remind of the boy who said the emperor is wearing no clothes. I agree that executives get fooled by the wrong measures (easy way out) however I would also add they get fooled by above all groupthink or doing what everyone else is doing.
